Comic: You would look weird with a small nose

50 phobia of small noses

My nose isn’t actually that huge. At least in America.

But most Asian girls have these dainty little noses that don’t have a knob like mine. And when you don’t look anything remotely like 98% of the people you communicate with on a daily basis, weird insecurities happen.

  1. I have a nose that’s trying to be Filipino but it’s only half….let’s just put things that way and frankly I find it a bit strange when Japanese people comment on noses.

  2. I also have a “not small” nose and I remember in HS an exchange student from Japan said she loved my nose! Woo hoo!

BTW I love your blog so much! I get so happy every time I get a e-mail notification that you have a new post!

  3. I knooow right?! It seems like every “the most beautiful women” celebrities have a tiny nose. I desperately want one, haha. Something like Emma Watson’s would be perfect.
But like your husband said, I think it would look totally weird on my face.
    Embrace yourself! :D

    • Yeah :)

That was one of the things my Japanese friend said. They were surprised how “large white people’s noses are” because celebrities usually have small, dainty noses. Oops.

For what it’s worth, I think Ryosuke’s right…your face would look very disproportionate & kinda horizontally asymmetric with a little button nose. Translation – it would be weird. You’re really very pretty with the one you have – it fits your face.

Don’t fall prey to insecurities…embrace the weird & different. Let’s face it – those of us that are outside the “norm” (don’t get me started on that term) are the ones that everyone wants to be around because we’re really fun & interesting.

    • Hahaha, I like how you put it: “those of us that are outside the “norm” (don’t get me started on that term) are the ones that everyone wants to be around because we’re really fun & interesting.”

I’m ok being outside the norm. And as cute at button noses are, I guess one WOULD look pretty weird on my face.
